Didn't we go over this already?

120mg of NaHCO3 in 1L will yield you 4dKH (4.0052)
180mg NaHCO3 in 1.5L will give you 4dKH.

2. Weigh 3.60 grams of baking soda, add it to the 3000 ml of distilled water and mix well, this will make a 40 dKH / KH standard.
or 3600mg in 3L. half that is.

1800mg(1.8g) in 1.5L will give you 40dkH

180mg NaHCO3 in 1.5L will give you 4dKH.

please read carefully.

The better way depends on how accurate your measuring equipment is. If you can measure 180 mg accurately that is a good method, but if you don't have the equipment to do that, you might be able to measure 10 times that with better accuracy, so that would be the better method.

In any case a 10% error in KH of the solution is just a 10% error in the ppm of CO2 that you determine, and the drop checker isn't nearly able to measure CO2 that accurately anyway.

They might be the same kH since they both have co3 but as for the ph, I don't know. I know na2co3 is a lot stronger in ph so it might shift your solution higher that 7. You'll need a ph test kit to test.
