question for the diy co2 reactor bldrs

I have one of these in use and seem to be getting co2 into my 2213, which works its way up and out the spraybar. I currently do not have anything in the reactor(bioballs, golfballs) should I consider it? OR maybe put something over the exit hole of the reactor, coarse sponge or something? I think too many little bubbles are getting out and are growing in the filter

My co2 is running 24/7 roughly 45 bubbles a minute. I tried putting the reactor on my output of the filter, but that was even worse.

The reactor is usually mounted on the filter's output side. What are the specs on your reactor? Length? Where's the CO2 come in (top, bottom or middle)? Is it inverted?

I know most people do it to the outflow, but I was getting way to much bubbles from that. 12" long piece of pvc w/ appropriate endcaps. CO2 is inserted via 3/16 tube about halfway down from top. It is pounding the co2 to tiny tiny bubbles but still getting out.

If I take a light to my 2213 I can see lots of big airbubbles trapped in different levels of media and if I give the filter a shake it really starts grinding up the air. Obviously I have to do a modification(Thankfully I have an extra coupling laying around if I have to cut it open.)
