Question Diy Co2 mixture with lemon acid?

I read someone used lemon acid and soda for his diy Co2. Has anyone else tried this?

That would make CO2, but it is two reactions to get to that point. The reactions are fairly quick, so duration would be attained only through a continous addition of ingrediants, expensive and troublesome.

Nothing unique about the lemon acid either, only that its weak and would be easier to handle.
