Building a stand have filter question

So I am working on making a stand for my 12g long and the question arises on if there is a minimum distance of hose I should watch for on my eheim filter outtake. The stand will be low profile since it's going inside another stand I have. So the last thing I would want to do is not leave enough room for the filter hose. I plan on putting the filter below one side and drilling holes for the hoses to feed directly up one side as you often see. My guess would be only about half a foot of hose(most of the length from lip of the tank to hose is taken up by the lily pipe.

Will this cause an issue? Then if it won't now what if I add a curve ball into the mix. An inline diffuser with only 2-3" of hose on each end

Which model Eheim filter? The instruction manual should note the height requirements.

Looking at the 2213 and 2217 manual, they both show 10 CM so about 3 1/2 inches minimum from top water level to top of canister? I think of it as a matter of convenient length to move and restart as much as a matter of actual operation. You don't want it so short that it is a fight to get things taken off and put back for cleaning.
