My new DIY CO2 reactor?

Just connected my DIY CO2 reactor to my system. I built the Rex Grigg model except I used the 2" body. I have two questions....

I'm getting a lot of tiny air bubbles (don't know where they are coming from) out of my spray bar...(CO2 is turned off). Is this normal?

I hear water flowing thru the 2" reactor like a water fall. Is it suppose to be a bit on the NOISY side?

I'm hoping that if I let it run for a few hours, it will all turn out perfect. If it doesn't, I'm going to live with the mad hatter.

after that it is very quiet

What about the bubbles...do you get any fine bubbles when there is no CO2?

I found that a bleed valve on top does wonders. I use it to help my Rena XP3 self prime easier, and to bleed out any gas bubble that forms there. It is pretty quiet with no air bubble.

Success is Soooo Sweet

Next morning and what do I have......suewheat success.

No bubbles...No noice....and best of all....No leaks.

I finally did something right.

Now, I think I'm gonna dismantle it all and go with Diana Walstad's El Natural fungswey way.

I had that also on my DIY reactor . Shut your pump off to fill the reactor do this a couple of times to get all the air out.
And if you put a bleed valve on top run it back into your pump to break up the co2 it recirculates it back in , I have gotten better pearling on my plants and faster growth.

Not sure why, but my bubble rate is now uneven since I connected the reactor. The spacing between bubbles is now erratic...like 1,2,3 pause 4,567 real fast, 8...9...10 slower...etc. Not extremely different...I don't want to exaggerate, but it definitely is not as smooth as it was before.

Any logical explanation for this erratic bubble behavior?

Are you using DIY CO2 or pressurized? If you are using DIY then I would think that it is unable to provide enough constant positive pressure going into such a turbulant space like your reactor.

If you are using pressurized then I have no idea....

I have the same thing happen on mine, I can only say it looks like some sort of variable pressure change. It may be due to a small leak on a bubble counter or back pressure. I checked all my parts and had no leaks yet in the mornings before it turns on about half the co2 line has water in it. I think the bubble speed should be fine.
