DIY Moon Light for Fresh water tank

Well I enjoy DIY but I am cheap and impatient, but I do do some research. I have decided that I want to put moonlight in my 10 gallon tank. As I was looking at the threads in this section of the sight I found a few DIY LED setups and am going to try one. I will post updates and picís as I go along.

thanks for the link but now instead of just blindly using the info from the link i found in the other thread i am going to have to make two trips to radio shack and home while i try the resitors to find the right brightness. good think i have an electronics learning lab.

I got lazy with resistors, so i just attached them to 3 rechargeable batteries which is the same amp/voltage as blue LEDs.. However, the batteries don't last over night. haha. But I only use the lights for a few hours at night, so it works for me.

most of us have a bunch of old cell phone chargers laying around. look for one that's around the voltage you need. here's what mine looks like:

thanks for the advise and ideas. but i have already drawn out the diagram and made a list of parts. I am also feeling crafty so i am going to just buy extra risistors and make one trip to Radio shack.

okay so i have put everything together installed the lights and i will take pics of the full effect when tonight, though i think i will need to redesign how the LED are attached to the hood.
