How to mount lens on screwed-in LEDs?

I am trying to set lens like this one:

...on leds mounted somewhat like this:

The issue I have is that the lens mount is not getting attached to the LED because of the screws. It just does not go low enough to catch on the LED.

The heatsink will be flat surfaced, untapped.

What would you recommend between the following:
1. buy other LED lens mounts (please suggest ones that would fit)
2. make the LED mounts fit by cutting/chopping them
3. don't tap the heatsink, don't use screws - glue the leds to the heatsink, the heat transfer will be good enough
4. other (please comment)

You can use flat head screws and can avoid the plastic washer, and place the screw sufficiently away from the terminals. Or use flat plastic screws. You will have to glue the optics on LED anyway.

You have placed the LED wrongly in your('s ?) pic, place it such that the grove doesnt come under LED.

Anderson's advice is one that works too, I have seen it in one of the topics on the forum here.

Or you could buy just the transparent lens and glue it, instead with the white sleeve on it.

Finally got my heatsink. Its surface is flat, maybe I'll glue the led's... I'll decide as I get to work on it tomorrow.
