DIY CF lighting for 20g

im going to set up two CFs in my origional hood. i plant to pull out the ballast and replace it with two lamp sockets. my problem is i dont know which sockets to use

this one says that its not rated for CF's? ive put CF's in old incandescent sockets before so would this work?

this is the thread that i'm getting my instructions form. id buy the socket from there, but i dont wanna pay $6 for shipping!

Thanks for your help

I used rubber indoor/outdoor rubber sockets and they worked great. Link

homedepot for $2-3 each. If you will have glass over the tank right below the lighting then you can use any socket, ceramic or rubber

If you want a bigger bang per watt then get an ahsupply reflector (only $10-15 or so) and add it to the hood. you definitely will see a greater improvement than just painting the inside white.

I agree with Bk828 ahsupply has the best reflectors I have seen. I plan on getting some when I make my diy hood.
