Rocks?

Where do you find your rocks for your aquarium? I would rather go out looking and not pay for something free.

Where are you in Texas?

Hill Country has tons of "holey rock". Problem is it makes your water hard. If you live in San Antonio or Austin, you already have hard-as-rock water so it wont matter.

I live not far from a national forest. I would think that if you are in east Texas it
may not be AS easy, but if west Texas, then there must be a smaller river or stream somewhere within driving distance. Actually in my experience land scaping companies
don't have much that's the right kind. Those plain round or egg shaped stones are mostly what they will have or something not at all suitable. I do like to keep proportions though and everyone doesn't. My main issue/w the landscaping co's is the size of what they have. Because of the layers in it I'm relatively sure this is petrified wood. Under the Fissidens and next to the Nana Petete.

No real idea of what this one is.

The shortest distance between any two points is a straight line...in the opposite direction...

If you want nice looking rock, you'd have to pay for it unless you live next to a nice quarry where there are mountains and streams.

I go to a rock, landscaping store. They charge something like $.30 a pound.

You can use river rocks to build a little hut cave.

20 gallon - Sulawesi Golden rabbit snails/Japanese Trapdoor snails/RCS/Marbled crayfish tank
55 gallon - Rainbowfish Dutch scape low-tech planted tank

250 gallon - Community Tiger Oscar/Red hook silver dollar/Silver dollars/PB Jack Dempsey/Clown loaches/Tinfoil barb/Roseline sharks/Bala shark Monster fish tank

This is the tank to give you an idea what I'm working with. Maybe one side some caves and driftwood the other side swimming space.

I normally find all I want just looking around but if that doesn't work, I would look for this place to have some that could work. If you don't like the size, use a hammer and chisel to cut it down?

So much for that idea the tank was cracked on the bottom on different sides. That's the 2nd new tank they sold me like that I'm pretty ticked off with this product.
