Looking for DIY stand suggestions for smaller tanks

I've been searching here but most of the DIYs are for bigger tanks..I am gonna have a tank 30x16x18 and I want to DIY a basic, closed stand. Anyone has any good links or any suggestions on where to look for? I tried to google it as well but most of them are for bigger tanks...thank you

Why not take what others have done and adapt their plans to fit your application?

I agree with bodo.

Roybot73 has a nice stand he built out of birch for a 20L. I really like it.

He doesn't go into the build of the stand too much, but he does show off its construction enough to get an idea.

I have a thread for a build of a 75/90 stand and canopy. I am still working on it, but there are many aspects that you could use in a smaller stand.

If you spend some time going through the DIY section, you can find a lot of useful stuff in there for builds. I would sort it by the number of hits.

I saw your thread about your stand...

so basically you have a base with 2x4s and top with 2x6 and you "connect" the top and bottom with 2x4s right? I mean the vertical beam is sitting on top of the base instead of going stragiht down to the floor....and a center support for the bottom and 4 "floater" 2x4s for more support....

sorry but I am not expert with DIY so if I sound silly please forgive me...:P

I haven't built anything using this site's design, but it seems like a good place to start. Just plug in your dimensions and it will design it for you. http://www.fishandtips.com/index.php

You can take some ideas from this if you'd like:
http://www.freewebs.com/hockeyliles/...ustomstand.htm

I built it for a 30" x 24" x 24" aquarium.

Any questions, feel free to shoot me a PM.
