Speciality Parts suppliers?

I have two projects in my head, but have not been able to find some of the parts.

First: I installed an inline heater and a Rex Reactor on my Fluval XP3. This involved replacing the factory hose with 5/8" id hose. No problems there, but because of the reduced flow rate, I now want to make a spray bar. I went to Home Depot yesterday, and the only 5/8" hose barb I could find was brass. I remember reading somewhere that brass is a no-no. Additionally there was no small diameter black pvc in the store.

Where can I find a nylon/plastic 5/8" hose barb? I am also looking for a 5/8" Y adapter (so I can run the reactor and heater in parallel)

Does anyone make 1/2" black pvc (all the stuff I found on the net was 2"+ sizes for sewer stuff).

Second: I in the planning stages for making a nano cube and want to add bulkheads, but the smallest sizes I could find were 1/2". Are there smaller sizes somewhere?

Thanks.

I was under the impression that the XP hoses were 5/8 ID already:

I think Lowes might have the barbs. If you can't find them, pm Rex, he might be able to hook you up with pieces from his spare parts chest.

I couldn't find 5/8 hose barbs either, so what I did instead, I used 1/2" PVC pipe, which connects to all sorts of Sched40 T's and Y's and such. To get the Filstar hose over the pipe, I held it in hot (almost boiling) water for a couple of seconds which softens it up. Then added a twist-tie just to feel secure.

Not sure on the bulkheads, I imagine there are 3/8 somewhere... but check the plastic parts department in HD/Lowes. While using Sched40 parts isn't the most sophisticated approach, they might work just as well as specialized bulkheads, for a fraction of the cost.
