El Cheapo Tank

I recently got an awesome Amazon Sword mother plant with a lot of baby's, so needing something for them, I grabbed a rubermaid storage bin, an old filter, small heater, and instant plant tank. I hung a couple of 5500 K compact fluorescents over it.

I use rubber maid container as a quarantine tank before. I guess this is a very good idea if you want to start a plant farm.

Lots of people use these to grow their cichlid fry out, or I guess any fry for that matter, its just that I am more familiar with cichlids. I've even seen people using those kiddie pools.

El Guapo! I dig it. You would be surprised how many aquatic plant farmers use this set up. I know people in Oregon use them, as well as two handfuls of farms here in Florida who use them.

Haha good stuff.

I keep a wad of java moss in an ice cream tub by the aquarium lights. I use some of the aquarium water from water changes to replace the water in the ice cream tub. It's working quite well lol. No filters or heaters involved.
