foam rock structure?

hello everyone and happy new year
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience in aquascaping using carved foam to resemble rocks? I have seen some other people do it in Biotope aquariums online and not in person and i like the look but i am unsure how durable it is. Any advice would be appreciated.
thank you

Here's a link where someone made a background. It might be helpful to you.

I haven't used them in fish tanks but am planing on making one for a viviarium. As long as its sealed it should last for as long as the tank does. Sometimes when the sealant isn't applied correctly it can shorten the life of the background.

Just make sure to cover it with some epoxy or silicon before you add the colored cement

I made on for my 30g non planted tank. Mine is foam core structure w/ concrete outter shell, painted and sealed. Its durable, and the only problem I have with it is when I'm trying to net out fish, they hide in the caves I've made and I have a HARD time getting them out of there. That being said, it looks good and was cheap to make.

great advice guys. This will help alot. Does anyone know if any mosses would adhere to the foam? Im thinking of constructing the walls and bottom of the tank out of foam and then attaching some moss. My only other question would be how the temperature of the water affect the heat sensitive foam.
