Turning 29 Gallon AGA tank Rimless

I currently have a 29 gallon aquarium that is very packed with anubias and java fern. I been wanting to buy another 29 gallon and pre drill it for my eheim and take off the top brace only. Would like to know how safe this is as i have heard many mixed results. Want to know if anyone here has had such experience with this tank size.

Every mention of this which I have read on this forum has clearly stated that it is not safe over 20g.
It might be a good idea to ask..."if YOU have a tank over 20g that has had the rim removed will you reply to this ?"
Because before I would take a chance on it I would want to speak to a person who actually has one.

The shortest distance between any two points is a straight line...in the opposite direction...

that isn't true. Though, that is the most commonly recommended because once you start getting larger/higher than that you tend to see tanks w/ center braces.

the "AGA" 29g doesn't have a center brace, so may be fine. as with any aquarium though, there is zero guarantee that it won't break. I've only done a 10g... and honestly these cheaply built rimmed tanks just don't look that great derimmed, in my opinion.

Personally, I'd rather build my own rimless tank of higher quality.

Yea with the amount of risk involved given so many people saying how bad things can go i am best buying a tank from glasscages or another place of such quality. I was curious to see if there is a single individual on the forum with long term success.

The potential nightmares that comes from doing that on a 75.......and i am here worrying about my 29...In any case i feel more confident paying 200 dollars for a rimless tank than worrying a bunch.
