Do you plan on automating it with a timer?
You will need one that can turn on and off with resolution down to the second rather than the standard minute ones.

If you do decide to take a stab at programming i have a great Arduino dosing system tutorial

I absolutely hate coding
I was thinking of having it on a timer and having it come on every 8 hours at 3ml per hour

Most timers only let you down to a minute so you would be pumping for 60 seconds. You would have to run it extremely slowly or find a timer that went down to the second

If the pump can get under 30ml per minute at 5v I think it will be fine, just dilute the fertilizer you wish to add. Let me know how that pump works out for you.

http://www.amazon.com/DROK-12V-40V-Electric-Controller-Stepless/dp/B00CGXJSNY/that is what i was advised to use to control the speed of that pump combined with a powersupply but I don't know electronics that well and id think the one you linked that can go to 5v will let the pump be slower?

just found this one too

Well if it goes for a minutes just calculate how much it uses in a minute and then just fill up a jug with the desired ferts and then have it use all of that. Plus it would be less refills you have to do

But let me know how this setup goes! I really need one bad cause I miss days all the time :/
