DIY Co2 on 75gal tank

I am currently setting up a new 75 Gal planted tank. In the past I had a 30 gal tank and used DIY CO2 with great results. I am a little concerned that DIY on a 75 may not work. I do want to get a pressurized system when money permits.

How many DIY 2L bottles would it take to make this work?

I want to be as close to the 30 PPM as possible. My tap water has a high KH (12) and high PH (8.3) so that may make things more difficult. I was going to try and mix maybe 30% RO water with the tap to bring them down a bit.

Thanks in advance

I'm gonna vote for 6-8 2L bottles for sufficient levels. It varied, but I used 4-6 on a 55gal, when I still did DIY.

At what point are you wasting money on sugar instead of just going pressurized?

I did 6 bottle on my 70 gallon for 3 years. It was a royal pain in the a##.
That said it worked but I am full auto pressurized and I am so happy now)

Ya, I forget how many cups are in a 5 lb bag but I guarantee you will use more than one bag each time you refill all of your bottles. I realize bags of sugar are only $3 or whatever but in a year you will have almost spent enough in sugar where you could have bought a Pressurized system. Plus with a pressurized system your money being spent isn't just dissapearing. The pressurized system is always going to be there, unlike the $3 dollars every other week on sugar.
Pressurized would probably be 10x's more efficient too.
Just my 2 cents

6-8 bottles is crazy - I think it may make sense to go pressurized from the get go - whats another $150

I am in Canada - anyone have suggestions about about a decently priced co2 setup?
