A divided long tank as spawning tank

This idea is meant for those egg scattering breeds whose eggs are not sticky and fall to the floor.

The adult’s tank:-

Take a bare bottom tank and divide the tank with an acrylic sheet into two parts. The divider should be tight and ˝” above the floor. Put ˝” strips running from just under the divider along the length of one side of the divided tank. Fix UG plates (or some other stiff mesh) over these ˝” strips so that none of the adults can get under the UG plate.

The egg/fry tank:-

In the other half just put a sponge filter with a power-head. Add a pipe to the output of the power-head and pass it into the adult tank through a hole drilled in the partition.

Do I have to say how it works? Is it not obvious??

If you have a choice, you have a problem, till you elect your choice. No choice, no problem, only consequences, learn to live with them.

That's a pretty cool idea, maintaining water parameters would be much simpler because of the added volume; you wouldn't even have to acclimatize the fry when you transfer them to the adult side. And then the eggs would eventually just drift into the empty half because of the current?
