Are you trying to create a Godzilla like scene? Tiny cars and trees being crushed by the giant out of control shrimp! Get a freshwater ray for the part of Rodan! (sorry, couldn't resist.)

Warning:
Some of those model railroad trees are made from wire covered in a paper Mache,

railway trees, speaking from experiance, are mostly made of wire or have wire within then so as to form there shape and are therefore unsuitable, your best bet would be childrems farm yard toys as theyre not allowed to contain metal, brittons make quiet good trees, failing that do what many modellers do and use twigs from either grapes or birch in bunches till the desired effect is reached

simply use driftwood... You can find/make your own... just look for small branchy parts.

HEINEKEN, here is a DIY idea I'm experimenting with that's an extension of my moss rope ladder idea in my signature. I take solid aluminum modeling wire, feed it into nylon rope, shape it however I like, and will seed it with moss and see how it grows out. I'll post some progress photo's in a few Months about how this project is going, but in the mean time, I thought I'd inspire you to try something along the same lines. I'll probably be doing a weeping willow tree form using weeping moss once I get enough moss to work with. aluminum and nylon are harmless to fish, plants, and water chemistry.

X2!! And the paints used are probably not exactly conducive to good tank occupant health.
