DIY Reactor Question

Do you need to seal caps of bottles with silicone for DIY CO2, and do you need to seal where the airline goes into the reactor?

You don't need to put anything on the caps of bottles to seal them. If you drill the holes small enough in the caps so you have to cut the hose at an angle and pull it through with a pair of pliers, in other words, Tight... then you will not have to seal them either.
Just make up a soap and water solution to check for leaks after it is up and running under pressure.

On the reactor, it depends on how you have the hose attached. You shouldn't need to silicone any of it if attached tightly. I used a brass compression fitting, others have drilled and installed nipples that screw in. Just make sure to do a leak check.

Really... Really... new guy chiming in.

I just setup (2) 2L bottles and based on a thread I found here I drilled the holes with a 11/64" drill, pulled the tubing through and have been running leak free for a couple weeks now.
