Questions about new start up

Just starting an new planted tank using Miracle Grow Organic and gravel / sand mix on top w/ drift wood. Looking for suggestions on easy start-up plants and is grapevine wood okay for planted tank w/ fish. I've had aquariums since the 70's but never had luck with plants but this site Rocks.
I will be using a combination of my 15w grow tubes and 70 watt's of LED's, 55 gallon Discus, neon's, corys etc 79 degrees.
I like the look of sps.sps's tank in the photo gallery.

Fast growing stem plants are great for cycling a tank. My two favorite are anacharis and wisteria. Both of those are super easy imo. There are too many starter plants to list. Try the plant finder at APC. There is a selection for hardiness. Choose very easy or easy. There are quite a few to choose from. Pay attention to the lighting requirements as well.
