DIY aquarium hood

Hi, I have a Hagen Fluval Duo Deep, has been running for a while and I am not so sure about the hood, it does not allow for many tubes to be used. So far I have managed to squeeze three in, would like to possibly have four. The tank measures 60cm by 35cm. Does anyone have any suggestions for a DIY hood? Many thanks.

There are many ways to make a hood, and your skills and available tools tend to determine which is the best way for you. So, what skills and tools do you have available?

I have the same hood, but the dimension is 80cmx35cm, can you post a picture of yours as I want to see how you fitted additional tubes in. Thanks!

Heres a pic of my hood at present, I drilled some holes through the flap and fitted the reflector and tube in there, its the only possible place I can see to put another tube. Not sure how to post a pic yet, will do son though hopefully.

I have some basic skills in woodwork, metal and plastic work are probably out of my depth, I have all the basic tools needed. Any ideas?

cheers

DIY Enclosures shows an easy way to make a simple hood.
Here is a more complicated hood I made using hand tools: Hoppy's DIY Hood - Aquatic Plant Central- aquascaping...a living art
And, this is a thread showing several other hood designs: Lets see your DIY Canopys - Aquatic Plant Central- aquascaping...a living art
You can do a search here for DIY hoods and find others.
