Tank Rebuild

So I caught my 30g taking a leak last night...

It was leaking from the front bottom center seam. Broke it down and took the plastic frames off but I saw that the construction was different from tanks today. Instead of the side panels sitting on top of the bottom panel, the bottom panel was in between the sides.

Should I rebuild it as it was originally or should I put the sides on top of the bottom panel? If I rebuild it like it was before, I could reuse the plastic frame to hide the uneven panel sizes. If I build it like the new tanks, I would have to cut tiny widths of glass off to make it all fit together but then I could make it a rimless tank. Right now it's been broken down into separate panels.

This Metaframe tank is about...30 years old with of on and off use.

Rebuild it like it was. I mean it lasted 30 years.Plus then you don't have to cut any glass. Just use the professional strength silicone not the commercial version.
