Depending on the filter and tank can you post your specs?

I don't have my own test kits ... But 7 days ago if this helps nitrates and nitrites were zero..and ammonia was at .25 but I did a water change and it should be good ... I have 2 13w cfl bulbs which hang on back of filter ...my filter is a tetra filter I forget the correct name but it does a decent job ..

You're just beginning your cycle. To make it easier on the fish I would pull the CO2 and put in an airstone, yes.

If you still have any ammonia in your water then your tank is not cycled. The beneficial Bactria break ammonia down into first nitrites then nitrates. Having a small amount of nitrates in your water is fine 20<ppm but ammonia is harmful to fish.

If you are doing a fish less cycle make sure to add a little fish food in the tank.

That tank has been set up for a month now ... If it isn't cycled yet then that's pretty crazy ... She told me that that wasn't the harmful to fish and it should be fine the next week...so I waited and did two smaller end water changes and I finally got my fish yesterday....the tank is not just starting to cycle I know that for a fact

You don't need it but it would be beneficial for your fish, btw how big is your tank?

Oh! Ok then it is completely up to you if you have a air pump laying around then use but if not, you decide.

Wishing and knowing are two different things... Im not here to argue, just to point out that if you have ammonia and ZERO nirtAtes then ammonia is clearly not being converted.

I understand...but after a month my tank should be cycled. And yes I guess that could be wishing..but with my plants and the tank having been set up before...bot cycled should be out of the question...ive been watching my fish closely and they are very active and schooling and "playing" around with each other. The otos are very hard at work on some of the algae that I have..the tank already looks better!
