Coco panels in aquarium?

Hi. How well do those coco panels perform underwater? I have used these for dripwalls in vivariums and for generally growing plants, but I'm not sure how long they'd last totally submerged.

I was thinking about allowing java fern, african water fern, java moss, and anubias grow on the back wall to make a nice background.

Thanks

Frogs!

I have a 15 gallon tall that has a coco fern backround it used to be a viv for my frogs...frogs are long gone but the coco is still looking great.

i could submerge it and see what happens

i will let you know but only time will tell... so dont hold you breath if all goes well it could be a while!

I have also used tree fern panels in one of my vivs before it was under constant running water and parts always submerged for around 3 years with no ill effects...and it looks a heck of alot better "imo"

Natural Decor and here sell them Tree Fern Panel - 20 Gal.: Black Jungle Terrarium Supply

if they would work they might look pretty sharp!

Setup my 55g with 108w T5HO and co2 and augmented pool sand. Converted from Fish only.

Planing a 65g Tall done right from the start using Tom Barr's Non-Co2 Method now I just need to figure out the lighting!

I have first hand experience with CocoTek mats as a immersed plant medium.
they are terrific, accept they will break down within 4-6 Months so they would
not be good for a wall, only down in the substrate as by the time they dissolve
the plants will already be well established.

Came across this on a dart frog site:

Epiweb

It's a synthetic version of treefern fiber backgrounds so no decomposing. Looks like it's pretty new so reviews may be scarce but might be worth looking into.
