so iv been thinking about keeping/breeding CRS, CBS, and blue tigers..
but none of my current tanks are really ideal for the actual breeding of the little buggers
SO i got this idea.. to build a rack to hold 9 (that's right NINE) 20 gallon long aquariums. and i started doing some research (not a lot lol)
heres something along the same lines from: http://goldfishgarage.blogspot.com/2...-bbr-tank.html
If i were to go the "EZ" route i could pick up a freestanding rack like this one http://www.homedepot.com/p/Edsal-72-...2#.UeXjdNLVBkM
with the 48" cross shelves here
which would make my rack.. 48"W x 30"D x 72"H
if your not good at math/geometry that lets me put each 20L long ways 3 on each shelf. Also allows me about 1' above each tank for easier maintenance. Also since the rack is 48" wide i shouldn't have much trouble fitting a few shop lights, one for each shelf (3 tanks)
My only concerns up to now:
-the weight.. its going to be right about 1 Ton(2000lbs) across 48"x30" of floor space..
-Filtration.. i dont even know where to begin to filter 9 tanks in a rack system
Its also an option for me to obviously build my own rack for the tanks out of 2x4s to fit my needs but iv never built a stand or anything out of 2x4s tbh.. i am however fairly mechanically inclined and i designed and built two racks to hold my current 7 Ball Pythons
so im sure i could do it
any thoughts on the idea?
any ideas about filtration?
i hope to start this project in the next couple months so stay tuned!!
