Turtle Tank

Well I now have an extra TV stand that I have no use for and I have decided to take the leap and build my own tank. I am curious as to what materials would be best to make it out of. The tank will measure 22" x 39" and have 12" of water depth. I was thinking of using Acrylic but I was worried about warping/bowing with the weight of the water and the substrate over such a large surface area. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Can it hold over 400 pounds? A tank that size will weigh at least 400 pounds glass or acrylic.....DC
