HELP: Fish Food

I'm in the process of making my own fish food and I have a question.

Is using unbleached wheat flour fine to use in the fish food Im making?

It's best if you stay away from wheat all together. It's a filler binder but nothing wrong with it. Are you making fried flakes or frozen cubes?

You can use agar agar to bind.

I'm aiming for pellets but so far I've failed.

What do you mean by "fried flakes" ?

'dried flakes'

well, wheat is the way to go if you want pellets. Any wheat is fine. If you want extra fibre and nutrition, whole wheat might be better.

I couldn't get it to go into a pellet it was a FAIL.

I think I'm going to try the gelatin and agar agar next.

How can I make the flakes?

with pellets, I think you need an extruder of some sort like a those meat grinders. You need to make the food consistency to something like dough.

With flakes, you spread the food on parchment paper and put in the oven to dry. I'd go with agar. It's more shelf stable than gelatin.
