DIY C02 2 liter bottles..

I am going to start constructing 2 for my new tank and I am concerned about connecting the airline conector to the cap. What type adheasive should I use... I understand it can be tough glueing this material.

if the hole is smaller than the tubing then you wont need any adheasive. BUT, i still do. I usually score the tube and the cap so the adheasive really sticks. I use regular aquarium silicone.

Peace,
Ry

Don't over-engineer the cap. KISS works quite well. Just drill the hole in the cap smaller than the OD of the tubing. Then cut the tubing at an angle, thread it though the hole and pull it through with pliers.

Works every time with no leaks.

I use plastic nipples on my caps and squeeze them through, and then silicone. Dont forget to use a check valve!! http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3...e/DSC00374.jpg

I going to give a strong vote for Rex's method of making the hole too small. I've tried all sorts of glue and fasteners, but nothing held up long term until I tried it that way.

I use rexs method and it works good! I like to use the nipples for easy hose change and silicon around nipple for extra security. no leaks. http://www.qsl.net/w2wdx/aquaria/diyco2.html#3

works like a charm, less hassle than trying to use glue, and cheap if you already have a drill.
