DIY Yeast quick question

Hello

does any1 know if "Instant Yeast" can be used oppose to regular yeast for the DIY Yeast formula?

my dad has a bunch of Fleischmann's Instant Yeast... The ingredients are Yeast, Sorbitan Monostearate, and ascorbic acid.

would this have an effect on the surrounding fish?

thanx

I think you are fine, yeast need some time to activate themselves, depending on temperature etc, it may take many hours, sorbitan Monostearate and ascorbic acid are added to help this process.

I've used that plenty. Should work fine. You should have not problems with the fish as long as you don't mix the sugar yeast mixture with the tank water. I'm not sure exactly what it would do if you mixed it with the tank water besides just polute the tank with ammonia and alcohol.

ya lol i remember 1 time i pressed the 2Litre bottle in to force tons of C02 in the tank to make it look cool, but i didn't realize it sucked water back into the 2Litre bottle and created back flow.... the 2L exploded! lol
