Metal Halide for freshwater tropical

I live in the UK and have a tank 54" x 24" x 24".
Thanks to help already provided, my tank is now healthy
and very well filtered, now I want to increase the lighting to improve
plant growth.
I was buying some MH lamps from a guy on ebay, but they turned out to
be for indoor use and not suitable for aquaria.

I currently have 3 x 36W Triton flourescent tubes. They work fine, but
plants don't grow very well and apart from the usual cabomba-type of
plants and a few others, not much survives.

I have done a drawing of what I hope to achieve which is at

I can buy the 150W control gear locally and advice given here has
pointed me towards 150W MH lamps with Rx7s fittings and rated between
5,200K and 6,500K but I'm not having much luck in sourcing suitable
sealed lamp holders that would fit onto the top of my hood.
I wat to keep the control gear seperate from the light units for
weight/heat dissapation.

I don't like the luminaires etc that are available partly due to the
cost and I think that the level of light in my lounge would be
unbearable, so they're not an option.

Are there any UK resident members of this forum who can help source
suitable lampholders please? I imagine thay would need an IP65 rating
(i.e. they're fine for outdoor use)

The 300W/500W halogen floodlights that are widely sold for under a
tenner look about right, but I don't know if they're suitable for
conversion to MH...

Many thanks in advance
