Questions: 1) How do you decide on the length and width of your reactor?
2) If I want to put in shut off and quick disconnects, where is the best place for them?
I'm planning ahead, the CO2 system is nearly finished, eventually it will all get moved into a 20L but it will still be run with a fluval 206 (using vinyl hose, not that ribbed stuff)
I've been looking around and I found threaded everything in one store, so instead of permanently glueing things I'm going to go with threaded. It's a little more expensive but less permanent for when I mess it up lol.
Here is the plan:
A 2" reactor about 7-8" long. Very similar to this build:

minus the heater. I like this one cause it will stand on its own and the end caps provide a little extra length. The 2" body piece is really only 6" long but with the T on the bottom and an elbow on top it will make it a little longer.
I'm going to go with a smooth elbow on the top so that an air pocket is less likely to build up.
What am I forgetting, what have I not thought about?
There is my highly technical drawing of what I'm planning. Oh, I'm going to drill a hole in the side of the 2"x6" piece for the CO2 line, about halfway.
