Recipe for a 20 oz soda bottle?

1/2 cup of sugar, 3/4 teaspoon baking soda, 1/16 teaspoon of yeast. So far there has been no CO2 produced or not enough of it. Are my measurements correct? I think 1/16 tsp of yeast is a little bit too small.

20 ounces is roughly 1/3 of 2 liters so you should be cutting down the recipe in thirds.

2liters = 67.6280 ounces

i use 2 cups sugar, 1/4 tsp yeast
*no bakingsoda so i can't help you on that one.

20 ounce bottle should be
2/3 cups sugar
1/12 tsp yeast

you can add a little more sugar and a pinch more of yeast to help get it going better.

The baking soda is used to make the water more acidic i think... Crap. no CO2 yet...might be leak in bottle.

baking soda keeps the ph stable and keeps the mixture form becoming to acidic this helps the yeast produce longer otherwise the mixture may become to acidic for the yeast to survive and it may die out before it uses all the sugar, but is not really needed.

no co2 yet how long has it been going ?
you may have expired yeast or you have a leak.

Doh! found my problem. The yeast expired. Ever since I switch to pressurized for my 20 gallon I never used the yeast so it expired. I'll get some tomorrow.

Arg. I can make 2L bottles produce CO2 but not this bottle! Its been about a day with the new yeast and now bubbles. In the afternoon I sealed the cap with hot glue just incase theres a leak.
