12 gallon stand

Hi all. I have a 12 gallon bowfront Eclipse. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for a good stand for that. Or would I just be better off buying one? Thanks.

It depends on weather you are ready to go through the work of making one.

I'm willing to put the effort into making one, but if I have to spend almost as much money making one as I would purchasing it from my lfs, then I'm just not going to worry about it. Thanks!

I think it would be easy to do. Are you looking into making a copy of the one they sell in stores? Or are you wanting to make your own design?

Also how much does the on in your lfs cost?

If you do a rectanglar box with min support since it is only a 12 gallon, and nice panels to go around it, making sort of a box.

Tools you will need:

Sander and sandpaper
Saw or some way to cut the wood
Screws
latex paint or stain and sealer
2x4's and wood panels?

If you don't count your time as cost I would estimate it would be around $50 +/- $10. for all the wood and paint.

I know there are construction threads, I just can't seem to find any. Will add to post if I do.

I am in college, and I have it on a really sturdy dresser in my dorm room. It's working great. Unfortunately, I have to move out next Friday, so I need somewhere else to put it.

you can build a stand for that pretty easily, the weight is less than 100 lbs so 2x4 would be WAY over kill. your cost will vary depending on how elaborate you want to build it.
