DIY CO2 Eheim Questions

Hey all, great forum! Just curious what to do with my situation - I'm planning on running my CO2 airline to the intake of my Eheim 2026, but I've read that it needs to be shut off at night for best results. What's the best way of doing this? I've thought about getting a splitting valve like shown here & just dump the CO2 out at night out of the other valve. Is this truly necessary? Or should I just let it run all the time? Thanks for your help!

Mine runs all the time into the inlet of my 2213. At 1 bubble per second, I don't have any problems with airlock, I only get occasional bubbles out the spraybar in the late afternoon, and my nighttime pH drop is no more than 0.2 units. With all the floss in the canister, the CO2 has plenty of time to dissolve.
