Horray for free stuff

So today at work a guy came in with an old oceanic strip light that had bit the dust. he ended up going home with a new light and left the old one. well the old oceanic lights are cool cause the reflector is mylar and is very good at doing its job. They are also cool cause of the external rapid start ballast ( but this one was shot ) Soo the light was going to be sent to the dumpster, but not after i got ahold of it. so needless to say, a 36" piece of mylar reflector ended up coming home with me. So the plan is to remove the slowly carooding ( sp* ) white plastic reflector in the 5 needs desperate replacement, so im gonna make one out of this. its old and shows its age but theres a good spot or two to get what i need from it. i'll show it off when im done.

yeah it seems to be working good so far. seems to cast the light out in a wider pattern. so the dark corner of the tank isnt as dark anymore. plus i think it will help cool better ince this is a easier for the air to get in thru the vent.
