reflector material

Whats the best material to make reflectors out of ?

If your setup allows for it: white paint is one of the best reflectors unless you get the high end stuff that AH Supply uses (mylar?).

I've also heard that it depends if the light source is direct (e.g. metal halide) or indirect (e.g. flourescent), and a direct reflector wouldbe polished aluminum or mylar, with white paint being an indirect reflector. Whoever told me this also said that it works to use a direct reflector with an indirect light, but not as much the other way around. Anyone else heard this?
