google is amazing sometimes.

I have some 1/2" ID tubing, but can't find any valves, or appropriate fittings at HD, unless they are Copper or steel. I know copper will probably leech into my water and kill some things (inverts). Any ideas or good websites to get smaller pvc ball valves?

My Ace Hardware store has various fittings made of plastics that might work. It's a good place to scrounge around for things like that. They have PVC, CPVC, Nylon, Polypropylene, etc., and all are safe in the water.

Check the lawn sprinkler section of home improvement stores. I've gotten every PVC fitting I've needed there.
