AquaClear foam

I am cheap and I want some foam like what comes in an aquaclear filter. Is there somewhere I can buy a material that works the same way for cheap?

Evilbay. FYI, I can't speak for the 30 or 110, but i have a 20, 50, and 70. If I remember correctly, the 50 size is exactly 1/2 the 70 size, and the 20 size is 1/2 the 50 size. So a single 70 pad can be cut into 4 20 pads. In any case, get the big ones, and you can cut them down to size (they cut very easily and exactly with a sharp knife).

I was wanting it to actually use all over. I have an eheim 2213 that I was debating using over my ac50, but need media for it.

I need it for a lot of stuff, otherwise a 3$ replacement would not be an issue. Seems like good stuff to have on hand for any hair brain ideas I might have.

can't u just shove filter floss down there?

Its like bunched up cotton.

Unless ur after the carbon, then you can put a nylon carbon bag and wrap it with filter floss.

Filter floss gets clogged too easy and has to be thrown out. The other has a better flow rate and can be rinsed out and used again for years.

One of the forum sponser's is Big Al's online. I love these sponges for my needs. I use a hole punch to remove a core, and use them as replacements for the "Elite" style sponge filters. I use them as is in AquaClears. I cut them down or stack them for lots of other brand filters that I'm "modding".

Big Al's Foam Insert-1.5" x 2.25" x 2.5" SKU: 8357 $.49
