Depends entirely what drive current you use--- they can go from "not enough" to "HOLY freaking COW!".

If the tank is only 30cm tall also, the you do not need optics.

Get a driver that can run them up to 1,000mA or more-- and DIMMABLE. They can handle as much as 3,000mA but you will not need it.

I used 4 of them over a 10g once at 1,000mA and it was "decent" light levels. Could have been brighter but I would have needed CO2. 6 of them over a 30cm cube at a dimmable 1,000mA will be very good.

I've got a pair of lumilux buckblock drivers running 10 Cree Xml's at 2Amps (approx 6.2W)
All is good (and cheapish) so far.

I'm lighting half of a 165 Gallon 6'x2'x2' with mine.

I think your 30cm cube will be just fine.

create random acts of beauty...

Any DIMMABLE driver will suffice that can give you up to about 1,000mA of current.

You can, technically, run the XML up to 3,000mA, but in your case, it would be horrendous overkill over a 30cm tank. You'd have to use enough CO2 to make your tank fizz like Mountain Dew to keep algae at bay (ie, don't try it lol).
