surface scum :D

hi im new to the forums here i have a buildup of surface scum on my tank ? i dont know what its really called.... but i need to make something that will take care of my problem ?? a diy surface skimmer ? is that what you call it ? has anybody actually made something like this before ?: )

Hi there, yes this is quite common, especially in new tanks.

Click on search above, type in <scum>, and go! There will be a lot of posts discussing this, and you'll learn about the various ways to get rid of it.

Search for <surface film> too. Then for <skimmer>. There are some that you can buy, and others made them DIY style.
