DIY Bottle Size

How does bottle size affect Co2. I've been using 1 gallon jugs. Are 2 or 3 liter coke bottles better.

40 gallon SeaClear Acrylic, 192 watt Orbit Lunar PC, Filstar XP2, Filstar XP1, JBJ Regulator, Rhinox 5000 glass co2 diffusor, 9 watt UV sterilizer, Hydor Inline Heater, Pool Filter Sand substrate
Filstar pimp #53

How comes shoppings so stupid, looks at all this stuff I haves, what do I do's with it.

I am using a single 2.5 gallon jug on mine. I like larger bottles because you have to use less of them, which means less connections for Co2 leaks.

So does the size yeild more co2, or is it just because you can make a bigger batch in 1 container.

The volume of your sugar/yeast solution and CO2 output are +- proportional.

A 1 gal jug will provide about twice the output of a 2l plastic soda bottle. Of course, there are small fluctuations, but that's pretty much how you can adjust your CO2 production, by using different bottle sizes/quantities.

I recommend using two bottles, changing them in turns assures the CO2 production stays fairly constant.
