Count them for 10 seconds and divide. It's more accurate.

Drop checkers and BPS are basically just general guidelines. You want to start with a low bps and then increase it slowly according to how the plants and other inhabitants are responding. This isnt a set it and forget it type of thing...it takes some time to fine tune it all. Just make sure not to constantly change the rate or else the fluctuation will make you more prone to algae outbreaks. Increase it slowly, like one small adjustment per day slowly. Theres no rush so its better to take your time and be patient with it IMO.
