hagen ladder

with my newly built diy co2 system (2 one gallon jugs for 37 gallons) I am getting 17 ppm of co2 mid day? (ph 6.9, kh 4.5degrees). How much of a difference can i expect with the ladder. I have read it works great (i didn't feel like making a diffuser).

Anthony:

DIY systems typlically do not have enough pressure to drive a reactor so the bubble ladder is a good way to go. I think the CO2 tables should read with a given KH/pH CO2 is up to X ppm when saturated. You might want to confirm with a test kit. You can also measure pH early/late and compare to see how much CO2 is being used.
