Replicating wood

Since I can't put this in my tank, has anyone made a mold of something like this & filled that mold to make a replica for tank use?

And if not, is there another way to hand make decor?

No foam! Don't want to fight the float!

I was looking for DIY aquarium rocks, some links I found, one is for making wood from PVC pipe!

Foam might not be bad if you can implant something weighty in it so it does not float. A lot of folks use a slate base because you can easily drill a hole in slate to secure to the object. The slate is then easy to bury or if left in view, can be attractive depending on the motif.
