Diy rimless tank thickness help

Hey guys, i. Plannin to build a 24x24x15 lwh inch rimless tank. What mm glass should i go for?

As per an online thickness calculator with SF-9, its showing 8mm

Plz help.

8mm? I'm confused by the question. You've used a calculator that show's how thick it should be and you're asking how thick it should be. Haven't you already answered your question?

Well most of the calculators dont say rimless or non rimless. I want a rimless tank, so asking whether 8mm glass (as per calculator) for a rimless tank would be ok? Recomended safety factor for a reef tank(mine will be a planted tank) is 7.8 as per some of the forums, however i am going for 9. Once my 6mm glass of a 24x15x15 had cracked. Also mine will be all clear Starfire glass, means less iron means less strength.

6mm sides, 7mm bottom .. safety factor 3.8
AFAICT most assume rimless .


8mm is 6.5 safety factor for the sides 4.9 for the bottom

Typo on my end.. was 8.5 not 6.5
