Too Tall?

Is there any advise here about diy stand that is too tall for the size of a tank? I have someone tell me that a stand height of 39" is too tall for a 60 gallon tall tank. At that height, it has a high risk of tipping over? Please, share your thoughts on this topic.

Thanks

Basically the top rim of tank needs to be 3-4” below the peak of you armpit, just above nipple height. That’s my general rule.

I like Dave's rule, but I have also had tanks set up taller. At my last house I had a 37" tall tank on a stand that was about 32" tall. I would make sure that the stand is very sturdy, and possibly even attached to the wall if there is a concern about tipping forward, but things tend to stay in one spot once you add the weight of the water to the aquarium in my experience. It's also nice to have a tank that can be comfortably viewed while standing.
