I've set up a custom open top 18" x 36" glass tank for my 14 yo daughter and we've been enjoying the open top concept for two years now.
We had our first discuss jump (survived) and now wanting to purchase and add a fishing line bird netting mesh over the tank, with minimal visual obstruction / visual clutter, and seeking ideas.
Do you think I can just stretch it over the top and hold it in place with inside/outside aquarium magnetic holders (similar to Zoo Med magnetic suction cups), or even pairs of polished magnetic rocks.
If I use a custom frame, I'd have to remove the frame every time we reach into the tank?
Zip tie the ends of the net to the lighting bar sliding wire support.
We have two hang on back filters which can hold the back end of the netting in place, and I can weigh down the front end with an acrylic rod, and have it drape over the front of the tank 1/2" from the top (seems visually obtrusive).
Any ideas how to place a monofilament mesh over the tank and keep it invisible and easy to move out of the way for maintenance?
