Co2 bubbles in counter but not aquarium

I setup a diy co2 system and I'm only getting bubbles in bubble counter but not in the aquarium. If I have it set to 1 bubble per second in the counter I get none in tank but if I set it to about 20 bubbles per second in counter I get 1 bubble in aquarium. It was set up from about 6 30 pm and it's 9 30 pm now does it need more time to build up pressure? It would it explode if I leave it with bubbles only in counter and not aquarium? Ps I used a mixture I saw online 2.5 cups sugar, 1.5 tbs yeast and 1 tbs of baking soda

I, too, at one point, used a DIY then switched. Too much of a hassle. For my 10g I used a water bottle ratio of 1 cup sugar and a table spoon of activated yeast and got a nice flow at 1bps. I used a broken end of a chopstick. Not enough pressure for a diffuser. It took about 30 minutes to pressurize. I didnt use a bubble counter. Just stick the tubing in water without a diffuser first to count the bubbles. Only need to use Luke warm water, too.

Yes you were right bubble counter had a leak. No is it possible for the bubbles in the tank be to small? I have minest run through a power filter and then through filter floss and the bubbles are very tiny is that a problem?

Fin mist bubbles take long to reach the surface which allows more time for CO2 to dissolve in the water. If the water current is strong enough the bubbles would be carried a significant distance before reaching the top allowing more CO2 to dissolve.

Yes the current is strong and the bubbles get push from one side of the tank to 3/4 the other side. Ps finally saw a plant pearling in that tank for the first time today an only started the co2 today
