I'm thinking about building a 24x24x18 rimless tank out of 3/8" glass here in the near future. I've done quite a bit of research, but still have some questions. So on to my questions:
A) After plugging the dimensions and selected glass thickness above into the glass thickness calculator I am coming up with a safety rating of 7.01. Can anybody verify that I didnt screw this up?
B) As I know that these calculators arent optimized for rimless, would the 7.01 safety rating be adequate? I know 3.8 is the minimum for a rimmed tank and I've heard people suggest a rating of around 6 for a rimless.
C) When buying glass for a rimless does one want all edges flat polished or can I get away with seamed on everything except for the top edges (which would be flat polished)?
D) Assuming that my calculations above are correct with 3/8" glass I would like to verify my sheet dimensions: (1) 24" x 24" (2) 24" x 18" and (2) 23 1/4" x 18".
Thanks in advance for any insight you may be able to provide. This will be my first tank build and I want to do it right.
EDIT: JUST BOUGHT ONE! NEVERMIND! lol.
