How many coats of Plasti-dip?

I'm making riparium planters out of stainless steel wire, and while I'm guessing the stainless steel would be fine on its own, I'm still gonna plasti-dip it at least twice. If only for aesthetics. But I'm also using it as a precaution, because this planter is going into a tank with shrimp, and I really, really, don't want any leeching.

So how many coats of plasti-dip should I use? Never used it before, but it seems simple enough.

I plasti-dipped the back of my aquarium and used 3-4 coats. Unfortunately, I missed cleaning a fingerprint off of the glass and the plasti-dip peeled away in that spot, so make sure your planter is free of any oils prior to dipping. If you don't want to go through the trouble, Han Aquatics sells 3D printed riparium planters and ledges in black.

In my experience it doesn't hold up very well when submerged, I would use epoxy paint instead.

Huh, from what I read it should hold up pretty well. It's advised as a safe way to coat things for the aquarium on several sites.
